Okay, I did it. I threw my hat in the ring to win a chance to play at the Crossroads Festival in Chicago this summer.

In order to get there, I need votes – a lot of them. That’s where you come in.

Visit http://playcrossroads.com and register to vote by entering your email address and then confirming it (sorry about this step, but they have to know you’re a human – or close enough.) Here’s how that’s done…

When you first get to that page, the register link is the tab on the right:

Once you click that, you’ll see the register page. You’ll need a fan account which is the top radio button here:

Fill out the rest of the form and submit it. Then check your email for a link you have to click to verify your identity.

Then visit http://playcrossroads.com/griff3 and vote for the band there. Here’s the vote button:

While you’re there, feel free to listen to some tunes I posted. And you can make fun comments too.

That’s it. Thanks and I appreciate the help.
Griff

It’s about 9:07 and Laura and I have been up for about an hour after having gone to sleep at around 3:30.

We played the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio last night. Great place, by the way, one of the nicest casinos I’ve played at. And they were nice enough to give us a room after the show.

Grandma’s at home with the kids, and we both kind of feel like we’ve been hit by a bus. From here it’s back home in a few minutes for our oldest son’s 11th birthday party.

This is definitely that rock and roll lifestyle you hear about :)

Stop by Java Joes THIS Sunday afternoon for some soul-inspiring blues. You’ll hear some of my original tunes as well as some of the band’s favorites from legendary artists like B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robben Ford, Eric Clapton, and some lesser known favorites as well.

But – MOST importantly – come celebrate the birth of Chris’ beautiful little girl – Ella Joy Atchley!  Born on March 2nd.  Believe it or not, Chris delivered the baby himself in the driveway of his own home!  They never made it to the hospital, and paramedics arrived after she did!   Stop by and hear all the details from the proud new daddy!  (Ella joins big brother Ethan).  Wife Andrea and baby Ella are home and doing well.

Hope to see you for this very special performance!  Fun begins at 1pm.  Java Joes will be offering brunch, beer, wine, and yummy pastry items.

Java Joe’s is in Yorba Linda at 4975 Yorba Ranch Road, Yorba Linda, CA 92887 (714) 970-7988.

Check out the flier if you want to send it to your friends!

Stop by Java Joes THIS Sunday afternoon for the BEST blues music around.  Griff Hamlin has put together a one-of-a-kind blues band called Alpaca Love Society!  They’re as unique as their name and you won’t want to miss it.  Open up the attached flier for pics and more information.  You’ll hear some of Griff’s original compositions, as well as some of the band’s favorites from legendary artists like B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robben Ford, Eric Clapton, and more!

Sorry it’s such late notice, but we’ll be playing blues under the name Alpaca Love Society. Should be good trio fun!

I’m getting together with my good friend Bob Murnahan for an afternoon of tunes and Q & A with any of you aspiring guitar players out there.

Bob and his family are coming out from Sedona, Arizona, and on bass we’ll have Mark Smith with Chris Atchley on drums.

This is not a jam session, we’re going to take questions and talk about guitar “stuff” but we really don’t have the facility to actually have a jam session and let everyone come up and play… maybe next time.

It’s going to be Saturday, October 17th, from 1:00PM-4:00PM at Java Joe’s in Yorba Linda. Java Joe’s is at 4975 Yorba Ranch Road, Yorba Linda, CA 92887 (714) 970-7988.

We are recording the whole thing both audio and video. Don’t know what will come of it, but we’re at least going to try and get it for posterity.

Hope you can make it out, I think we’re gonna have a great time :)

This Saturday, the 10th of October, happens to be my 38th birthday. And we’re playing at Java Joe’s as Yard Sale.

Come on out and have some birthday pie (I’m not a big cake guy) and watch me play as many notes as I want because it’s my birthday!

I’m here…

by Griff

Sorry I haven’t posted anything in pretty much forever. I’ve been busy with my instructional sites at http://bluesguitarunleashed.com and http://startplayingbluesguitar.com.

I’ll make it a point to do more stuff here too.
